Patna Airport New Terminal Launch Date: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the new terminal of Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in Patna on May 30, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced on Wednesday. He highlighted that with the new terminal, the annual passenger capacity of Patna airport is expected to rise significantly from 30 lakh to over one crore.

In addition to the airport inauguration, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several key development projects, including the Patna-Sasaram and Varanasi-Ranchi four-lane highways, a 600 MW power plant in Navinagar, and expansion works at Bihta airport.

During his visit to Bihar, PM Modi will address a public meeting in Bikramganj, Rohtas district. Samrat Chaudhary, who reviewed preparations for the event, noted particularly strong enthusiasm among women following the launch of "Operation Sindoor." The public meeting is expected to attract several lakh attendees.

The review meeting was attended by JDU working president Sanjay Jha, Chief Secretary Amritlal Meena, and Director of Police Vinay Kumar, among others.

What Happens To Patna's Old Airport

After the launch of the new terminal, the old terminal of the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in Patna will be demolished and four new aircraft parking bays will be constructed in its place.

Patna Airport New Terminal Key Features

- The new terminal of Patna airport will be spread across 65,155 sq meters and will accommodate 4,500 passengers during peak hours.

- The terminal building will have two floors - ground and first. The ground floor will be used for arrivals and the first floor will be dedicated for departures.

- The new airport terminal will also feature G+5 multi-level parking.

- The first floor will have five conveyor belts, five passenger boarding bridges and over 54 check-in counters.
