Andhra Pradesh Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday stated that multiple districts of Andhra Pradesh are likely to receive rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that the rain will reduce the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius and will provide relief to the residents from the heat. It also stated that the state is likely to receive the monsoon earlier than usual, as the IMD had already stated that Kerala will receive the monsoon on May 27. The weather department stated that while some districts are likely to receive rainfall, others are likely to witness a surge in temperature.
Multiple Districts To Receive Rainfall
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Alluri Sitarama Raju, Parvathipuram Manyam, Srikakulam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, East Godavari, and Eluru, are likely to receive rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds for the next few days. Apart from this, it stated that other districts such as Alluri Sitarama Raju, Konaseema, Nandyal, Kurnool, Anantapur, YSR Kadapa, Sri Sathya Sai, Annamayya, and Chittoor are expected to receive heavy rainfall on May 16.
However, the weather department also stated that districts like Parvathipuram Manyam and parts of Vizianagaram and Kakinada are expected to witness a surge in temperature from May 16. Apart from this, the weather department also stated that Andhra Pradesh is also expected to receive early monsoon if there are no interruptions.
“We are expecting an early onset over Kerala around May 27, with a model margin of plus or minus four days. Based on this, an early onset over Andhra Pradesh is also likely, provided there are no interruptions such as cyclonic circulations or other synoptic developments. We will have a clear confirmation in our upcoming extended range forecast, which will be issued by May 16,” one of the IMD scientists was quoted as saying by The New Indian Express.
