Several key construction works at the upcoming Bihar Animal Science University campus in Patna are expected to be completed by June this year. The projects nearing completion include a Community Center, Shopping-cum-Primary Health Center, Central Store, Administrative Building, LAEH & Breeding Unit, Feed Analysis & Quality Control Lab, Vice Chancellor’s residence, and student hostel.

The update was provided by the Executive Engineer during a review meeting chaired by Building Construction Secretary Kumar Ravi. The university is being developed in a phased and systematic manner on a 224.53-acre site.

The meeting, held at the Secretary’s office, was attended by several senior officials including the Vice Chancellor of Bihar Animal Science University, Additional Secretary of the department, Chief Architect, and other engineering officers.

Officials informed that the Dairy Engineering Building on the campus has already been completed, spanning a built-up area of 5,704 square meters. It houses state-of-the-art facilities such as the Dairy Process Engineering Lab, Food Engineering Lab, Computer Lab, a workshop, and four seminar halls — all set to enhance academic and research activities.

Secretary Kumar Ravi directed officials to accelerate the pace of construction while ensuring quality standards are strictly maintained. Ongoing major works on the campus include the academic block, a 1,200-seat auditorium, a farmers’ training center, a dedicated hostel for 50 scientists, and a university guest house.
