The construction of the proposed Fintech City in Fatuha, one of the Bihar government’s key infrastructure projects, is progressing steadily. District Magistrate Dr Tyagarajan SM on Wednesday inspected the land acquisition and development work at Jaitia mauza, located next to the Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) site in the Fatuha circle.

During the inspection, the DM directed officials to expedite the pace of work and instructed the Additional Collector to closely monitor progress. He said the establishment of Fintech City will attract national and international companies, paving the way for rapid industrial development in the region.

According to officials, the project is expected to significantly boost employment opportunities, especially for the youth, as sectors such as information technology, banking, and financial services expand within the upcoming township. The integrated campus will bring together financial services, tech-driven enterprises, innovation-based start-ups, and export-oriented industries, creating a competitive ecosystem that strengthens investment and logistics in the state.

The government has already sanctioned Rs 408.81 crore for land acquisition, and the project has been approved by the state cabinet.

Modelled on Gujarat’s GIFT City, the Fatuha Fintech City will function as a modern hub where banking, investment firms, start-ups, artificial intelligence companies, and other finance–technology services operate from one location. Industries Minister Dr Dilip Jaiswal said the arrival of major financial institutions will create high-skilled jobs and offer new opportunities in IT, banking, and finance.

Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) is India’s first Fintech City, and Bihar aims to develop its Fatuha project along similar lines.
