Chandan Mishra Murder Case: A joint team of Bihar STF and Patna Police arrested six accused involved in the murder of gangster Chandan Mishra from West Bengal on Friday. It has come to light that more criminals are involved in the sensational murder that once again exposed the deteriorating law and order situation in election-bound Bihar. Till late at night, the police had not officially confirmed the names of the accused arrested from West Bengal.

The arrested accused are being interrogated in West Bengal, they will be brought to Patna after the legal process. Police sources said that after information has been received about the hideouts of some more accused, raids are being conducted there.

Who Were The Shooters?

According to police, Tausif Raza alias Badshah was the leading shooter. Buxar Police confirmed another name - Monu Singh of Buxar. Apart from these, the names of ten accused, including Balwant, Nilesh, Suryabhan, Abhishek, Nishu came to the fore. So far, the police have not made it clear whether any of them have been caught or if there are more.

Police Probing Security Lapse Angle

Meanwhile, the police on Friday said it was looking into any "complicity" that may have led to the security lapse. The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Patna (central), Diksha, said, "The killing of convicted gangster Chandan Mishra on the second floor inside the hospital is certainly a matter of serious concern. This raises serious questions over the security arrangements at the hospital. Five unmasked armed assailants reached the second floor, opened fire on Mishra, and fled the premises without any check. Investigators are certainly looking into any complicity that may have led to the security lapse."

Who Was Chandan Mishra?

Chandan Mishra, a gangster from Buxar and a murder convict, had been out on parole for treatment. He was admitted to the ICU of Paras Hospital. The shooters attacked him inside the hospital.

A purported CCTV footage of the incident, which went viral on social media, showed that five armed men were entering the ICU of the hospital and opening fire at the person. He was lodged at Beur Jail and had gone to the hospital for treatment on parole, she said, adding he was involved in 24 criminal cases, including more than 12 murder cases.
