Patna Metro Inauguration Date: In good news for the residents of Patna, the work on the Patna Metro is nearly completed, and the trial run and inauguration are likely to be held in the coming months.
Bihar's Urban Development Minister Jeevesh Mishra has carried out an inspection of the Metro Depot and stations. According to the information, 90 per cent of the work on the first phase has been completed.
When will the trial run be conducted?
The metro coaches for the trains are expected to arrive in June, following which the trial runs are expected to take place in July this year.
The civil work on the 6.63 km elevated corridor is completed, and the final work of track laying and signal system installation is underway.

There are five stations on the elevated corridor: New ISBT, Zero Mile, Bhootnath Road, Khemnichak, and Malahi Pakdi.
When will the Patna Metro be inaugurated?
As trial runs are likely in July, the Patna Metro will be opened for the public in August. Reports suggest that the government has set a deadline of August 15 (Independence Day) for the inauguration.
In the first phase of the Patna Metro, service will start between five stations on the 6.63 km long priority corridor. The average speed of the metro on this route will be 80 km per hour, although it may be slower in the initial phase.
Operations will start with a walkie-talkie system, as the work on the signaling system is in progress. The total cost of this mega project is Rs 19,500 crore, in which Japan has contributed Rs 5,509 crore.
Patna Metro Depot
The work of the metro depot on 76 acres near Bairia Chak, Sampatchak, is also underway. It is the backbone of this project. The depot will have two workshop bays, three inspection bays, eight stabling bays, and an auto-coach washing plant.
Apart from this, an auxiliary sub-station of 2,500 KVA capacity will be set up to meet the power needs of the depot. The administrative building, operation control room, and training center are also being constructed in the depot.
