Patna Metro Update: The Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL) on Tuesday conducted a trial run at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour to check the technical parameters. Apart from this, Metro Rail Safety Commissioner (CMRS) Janak Kumar Garg also conducted a detailed inspection of the Patna Metro depot, rolling stock, and three major stations of the priority corridor. The authority stated that metro services for the commuters is likely to start in the later phases of the month. Earlier last week, the PMRCL stated that the metro services will provide convenience to thousands of residents by cutting the travel time and reducing traffic congestion.

While providing details, the officials stated that the CRMS gave clear instructions that public safety is the top priority and 100 per cent compliance with all protocols should be ensured before starting metro operations. The authority further stated that ticket counters, escalators, lifts, and platform arrangements were also reviewed to ensure that the Metro provides a seamless and safe experience to commuters. The first phase of the metro will operate between the New ISBT Metro Station and Bhootnath Road.

Patna Metro: PMRC provides details

- The trains will operate between 8 am and 10 pm for 14 hours.

- Metro will be available at every station at an interval of every 20 minutes.

- Trains will make 40 to 42 trips daily.

- The fare from New ISBT to Zero Mile will be Rs 15.

- The fare between New ISBT and Bhootnath Road will be Rs 30.

- Special arrangements for the disabled and senior citizens.

- CCTV, emergency buttons, and security personnel.

Earlier last month, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stated that the metro services will also be extended to the nearby cities in the upcoming years. He also assured that the government will announce multiple projects to boost the regional connectivity.
