Patna Coaching Centres Scrutiny: Days after three civil services aspirants lost their lives in a flooding incident at the basement of a coaching centre in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar area, the district magitrate of Patna on Tuesday ordered an investigation of all the coaching centres operating there. In an order issued by the office of the DM, the appointed officials have been directed to check different aspects of coaching centres, including the condition of the institute's building, security measures, and the availability of fire exits.
The DM has also ordered officials to carry out checks on the provisions during an emergency situation and the entry and exit points of the centres, as per a report by news agency ANI. On Monday, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs formed a high-level committee to probe the fatal incident last week at Rau's IAS Study Circle in Delhi.

"MHA has constituted a committee to inquire into the unfortunate incident at a coaching centre in old Rajinder Nagar in New Delhi. The committee will inquire into the reasons, fix responsibility, suggest measures and recommend policy changes," the Home Ministry spokesperson said in a series of posts on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Seven people, including the owner and coordinator of the coaching institute, have been arrested by the police as part of their probe into the deadly incident so far. The incident, which occurred on Saturday after a nearby drain burst, claimed the lives of Shreya Yadav (Uttar Pradesh), Nivin Dalwin (Kerala) and Tanya Soni (Telengana).
