Passengers who have made plans to return to Bihar from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai are set to face a major hurdle as major trains are filled beyond capacity. From February 25 to March 3rd, no berth from sleeper to AC is available on any train. This means that passengers who are planning to book last-minute tickets will have to solely rely on Tatkal and Premium Tatkal services to get a ticket. 

To tackle this overcrowding, the railways are also planning to run some special trains to resolve the problem of the shortage of tickets. 

“In view of the rush on important trains, a plan has been made to run a large number of special trains from the East Central Railway zone. The special trains will be announced after receiving approval from the Railway Board,” said Saraswati Chandra, the Chief Public Relations Officer of the East Central Railway, quoted by Jagran.com.

These 10 Trains Are Filled Till Holi

 

  • Pawan Express (11061): Regret in sleeper from February 25 to March 2, AC-2 from February 25 to March 3 and 150 waiting in third AC. 
  • Avadh Express (19037): The Avadh Express is overfull in the sleeper coach, while the third AC and second AC have around 150 and 40 waiting respectively from February 25 to March 1.
  • Amritsar-Saharsa Express (11015): Regret for all sleeper seats and more than 100 waiting in the third and second AC from February 20 to 27. 
  • Vaishali Express (15566): Regret in Sleeper from February 25 to March 3, 150 waiting in AC-3, Regret in AC-2 from February 27 to March 3.
  • Mithila Express (13021): Regret in the sleeper with 100 and 40 waiting in the third AC and the second AC from February 25 to March 3. 
  • Purvanchal Express (15047): Regret in sleeper with 80 and 30 waiting in the third AC and second AC from February 26 to March 3.

  • Ahmedabad-Barauni Express (19483): The sleeper coach is full, while there are 150 and 50 waiting in the third AC and second AC from February 24 to March 3.
  • Vaishali Express (15565): Over 100 waiting in the sleeper from March 5 to 10.
  • Bihar Sampark Kranti Express (12565): Waiting list from March 5 to 9.
  • Barauni-Ahmedabad Express (19484): Waiting list from March 5 to 17.
