The Bihar Congress triggered a massive political storm in the poll-bound state after an AI video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother, Heeraben, was posted from its official X (previously Twitter) handle. In the AI-generated video posted on September 10, the PM is seen dreaming about his late mother, who is criticising him over his politics in poll-bound Bihar.
The BJP was quick to condemn the video and termed the act as an “insult” to all the mothers and sisters of the country. The video also drew sharp criticism from NDA parties, including JD(U), which slammed Congress for “stooping too low for politics” and said that the grand old party has reached the “pinnacle of shamelessness."
What Is The Controversial Video?
In the AI-generated video, shared with a caption, "Ma appears in Sahab’s dreams. Watch the interesting dialogue," a character resembling PM Modi is shown going to bed after saying, "vote chori has completed for the day, let’s get a good night’s sleep now." As he sleeps, a woman resembling his mother appears in his dream and scolds him for tarnishing her name to suit his political gains.
In the dream sequence, the woman scolds him for making her stand in queues during demonetisation, making reels of her while he (PM Modi) is washing her feet, and exploiting her name in Bihar politics. The video ends with the mother's voice asking, "How more will you fall for politics?".

‘Gaaliwaadi Not Gandhiwaadi’: BJP Attacks Congress
Reacting sharply to the video, BJP leaders went all guns blazing against the Congress. BJP national spokesman, Shehzad Poonawalla, on his X handle wrote, "Bihar Congress crossed all limits with a disgusting video. This party has become gaaliwadi instead of gandhiwadi… mahila aur maatru shakti ka apman is Congress ki pehchaan. shameful abuse Bihar as bidi and abuse a person no longer with us."
"Far from having remorse for abusing the PM's mother. Congress not only justified defending the accused with lies. Tariq Anwar too defended. And now Bihar Congress crossed all limits with a disgusting video," he wrote.

Echoing a similar view, BJP MP Anurag Thakur said, "RJD and Congress have shown how low politics can go. To indulge in mudslinging and mock someone's mother, and that too, who has passed away, from the land of Bihar. People of Bihar know them (RJD and Congress), they will never forgive leaders of such parties for this insult. It's disgusting and shameful…they will face a humiliating defeat in the coming assembly polls."
JD-U MLC and chief spokesperson, Neeraj Kumar, also lashed out at Congress and said, "The Congress party is suffering from social prejudice in politics. Has such an infection spread that they created an AI video of the Prime Minister's deceased mother, that too during Pitru Paksha? Such comments are an insult to our ancestors. The Congress has reached the pinnacle of shamelessness."
Congress Defends Video
Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera defended the video and said that there is no disrespect shown to PM Modi’s late mother anywhere in the video. "Where is the disrespect shown to his late mother? Show me one word, one gesture, anywhere where you see disrespect,” Pawan Khera said as quoted by ANI.
“It is the duty of the parents to educate their children. She is only educating her child and if the child thinks that it is disrespectful towards him, it is his headache, not mine not yours,” Khera added.

He further added that the BJP try to ‘make an issue’ out of everything, which leads to ‘fake sympathy’ for the party. But he clarified that there is no fake sympathy in the things that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does. Calling him a ‘touch me not’, the senior Congress leader advised Narendra Modi to take the humour as it is, even from the opposition.
However, according to a report by News18, the Congress leadership in Bihar has taken cognisance of the video and initiated an internal investigation into the matter. The report further stated that the party will first investigate who posted the video before taking any further action.
