Lalu Yadav's family rift has surfaced soon after the huge debacle in the recently concluded Bihar elections as Rohini Acharya has quit politics and disowned her family.
While announcing her decision, she accused Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Nemat of asking her to do so. In her first post announcing the decision, she said, "I’m quitting politics and I’m disowning my family. This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do …nd I’m taking all the blame (Bihar Election defeat)."
Who is Rameez?
The post sparked buzz about who Rameez is. Like Sanjay Yadav, Rameez Nemat is also a school friend of Tejashwi Yadav. For years, the trio has been close. At present, Rameez's role in the party is to handle RJD's social media, and he is a part of Tejashwi's core team.
Rameez belongs to UP's Balrampur and is the son-in-law of former MP Rizwan Zaheer. Zaheer is a former Samajwadi Party MP, which hints towards Rameez's connections to Akhilesh Yadav too. Rameez is also the main accused in the conspiracy to murder the former chairman of Tulsipur in UP in 2022.
Subsequently, he was charged with the murder of a contractor. UP's Yogi government has taken action against Rameez under the NSA and the Gangster Act. He was in jail for a long time before being released on bail this year. Rameez has also played cricket like Tejashwi Yadav. He played first-class cricket for Jharkhand.
Rohini slams Tejashwi
After disowning her family, Acharya also slammed Tejashwi while talking to the media. She said, "I don't have a family. You should go and ask Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Yadav and Rameez. They are the ones who threw me out of the family. They do not want to take any responsibility. The whole nation is asking why the party failed like this. When you take the names of Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, you are thrown out of the house, disgraced and abused".
During the election campaign, there were reports that Acharya was unhappy over being sidelined during the whole process. The reports were termed baseless back then.
However, just a day after the results of the Bihar Assembly elections were announced and RJD suffered a major setback, Acharya openly criticised Tejashwi, Sanjay and Rameez for not taking responsibility.
