Job In Bihar: Ahead of Bihar Assembly elections, Congress' youth wing - the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) - is set to organise a job fair in the state. The IYC on Monday said it will hold a job fair in Bihar between July 15 and 25, following the success of similar events held earlier in Jaipur and Delhi.

The initiative is part of an effort to tackle the unemployment issue and realise the vision of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, read a statement released by the IYC.

"Bihar has become a stronghold of migration today, both Bihar and the Central Government are unable to employ the youth of Bihar, so now we will organise a job fair in Patna," said IYC national president Uday Bhanu Chib.

IYC Targets Govt

"The Central and BJP governments are silent on unemployment, but not the Youth Congress. So after Jaipur and Delhi, we will organise the fair in Bihar," he further added.

The IYC recently organised a job fair in Delhi's Talkatora Stadium on June 19 to mark Rahul Gandhi's birthday.

The event saw participation from 161 companies, with over 10,000 youth registering, more than 7,000 appearing for interviews, and 3,391 reportedly receiving on-the-spot job offers, the statement read.

Several candidates were also shortlisted for second-round interviews, and this figure would only increase further in the coming days, it further added.

Nitish Kumar-led government currently governs Bihar, where elections for 243 seats are due later this year.

CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Six-Lane Ganga bridge

In another development, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the worth Rs 5,000 crore much anticipated six-lane bridge over the Ganges river connecting Kacchi Dargah in Patna to Bidupur in Vaishali district.

The inauguration marks a major infrastructural milestone aimed at easing travel between south and north Bihar. A grand event was organised in Patna to mark the occasion, which was attended by both Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, Bihar Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav, Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin and several senior leaders, and top bureaucrats.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore, the bridge is poised to significantly reduce travel time and traffic congestion, particularly benefiting commuters between Patna and Vaishali, including the flood-prone Raghopur Diara region.
