Bihar Final voter list 2025: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday released the final voter list in the poll-bound Bihar after the controversial Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive. The poll body has uploaded the final voters list to the website, adding that total number of voters in the final list is 7.42 crore. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar stated that the physical copies of the voter list will be distributed to all the District Election Officers/District Magistrates. A massive controversy sparked during the SIR after the opposition parties accused the Election Commission of removing the voters of marginalised groups; however, the poll body clarified that there was nothing unconstitutional about the revision process.

Earlier during the last hearing on the issues, the Supreme Court asserted that the process will be cancelled if any wrongdoings are found even after the final list is announced. The final hearing on the issue is scheduled for October 7 after the top court clarified that publishing the list does not make it free from legal action.

The Election Commission is likely to announce the schedule for the upcoming elections next week as the tenure of the Assembly in Bihar is nearing its end. The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), along with other Election Commissioners, is set to visit Patna on October 4 and 5 to take stock of preparations, after which the announcement is most likely to be made. The tenure of the current assembly is ending on November 22 and the poll body is making efforts to hold the elections before that so that the new government can be formed before it.
