Lalu Yadav Family Feud: Tej Pratap Yadav has come out strongly in defence of his sister Rohini Acharya, following her dramatic announcement that she is severing ties with their family and quitting politics. His emotional response highlights the turmoil within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) after its crushing defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections.

"I tolerated what happened to me. But the insult inflicted on my sister is unbearable under any circumstance," he wrote online, recalling how he himself was expelled from both the family and the party by their father, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Rohini Acharya, one of Lalu Prasad Yadav's nine children, announced on Saturday afternoon that she was leaving politics and taking full responsibility for the Bihar election loss. "I am taking full responsibility for the defeat," she said after leaving her home in Patna.

Her decision to cut ties, leave the country, and publicly recount her experiences has triggered a fresh wave of turmoil within the RJD circle. Rohini claimed that a slipper was thrown at her during a heated argument with her younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav, an incident that reportedly left her deeply hurt.

Tej Pratap said the events had turned his pain into anger and vowed that those responsible would be held accountable in the eyes of the public. "Ever since I heard the news of slippers being raised at my sister Rohini, the pain in my heart has turned into fire. When the sentiments of the public are hurt, the dust on the intellect is blown away. These few faces have clouded Tejaswi's intellect as well," he said, criticising unnamed individuals he says have influenced the family environment.

Rohini Acharya Severed Ties With Lalu Family: What We Know So Far

- Rohini’s announcement came a day after the RJD suffered a major defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections, finishing as the third-largest party with just 25 seats despite contesting more than 140. She publicly declared she was disowning her family.

- She took responsibility for the party’s loss while criticising Sanjay Yadav, an RJD MP and close aide of Tejashwi Yadav, saying, "This is what Sanjay Yadav had asked me to do."

- "I'm quitting politics and I'm disowning my family ... This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do, and I'm taking all the blame," Rohini said.

- Tej Pratap had previously been expelled from the party and disowned by the family following a controversy over his personal life. He now supports Rohini fully, praising her courage. "As a mother, sister, and daughter, what she has done is something few others could manage. She is revered by all women," he said.

- Rohini left for Singapore soon after making her accusations public, claiming harassment within the household. She has named Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Khan, a close associate of Tejashwi Yadav, as the alleged catalysts behind the family rift.

- In an emotional follow-up message, Rohini spoke of humiliation and allegations following disagreements over election matters. She also referenced her kidney donation to her father in 2022, claiming she was accused of procuring a political ticket in exchange for a "dirty kidney."

- After disowning her family, she criticised Tejashwi Yadav directly, "I don't have a family. You should go and ask Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Yadav and Rameez. They are the ones who threw me out of the family. They do not want to take any responsibility. The whole nation is asking why the party failed like this. When you take the names of Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, you are thrown out of the house, disgraced and abused."

"Yesterday, I was cursed at and told that I am dirty, and that I got my father to have my dirty kidney transplanted into him, took crores of rupees, bought a ticket, and then got that dirty kidney put in," she added.

- Rohini also remarked that married daughters should not be expected to save their father’s life, saying, "Never, ever save your god-like father; instead, tell your brother, the son of that house, to get his own kidney or that of one of his Haryanvi friends transplanted."

- Explaining her decision, she said she had obtained her husband and in-laws' permission before donating her kidney and prioritised her father over her children, a choice that ultimately led to conflict.

- "Yesterday, a daughter, out of compulsion, left behind her crying parents and sisters and came away; they tore me away from my maternal home... They left me orphaned. May none of you ever walk my path, may no family ever have a daughter-sister like Rohini,” she said.

- Lalu's younger son, Tejashwi Yadav, reportedly blamed Rohini for the election defeat, telling her during a heated argument, "We lost the election because of you. We are cursed because of you," and allegedly threw a slipper at her.

- Meanwhile, RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said on Sunday that Rohini Acharya’s decision to quit politics and disown her family is a family matter, adding that the party leadership will review the situation and respond later.
