A major political firestorm has erupted in Bihar over abusive comments made about a mother from a Congress party stage during their 'Voter's Rights March' in Darbhanga. In protest of this incident, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for a statewide shutdown on September 4.
Regarding this issue, former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav took a dig at Prime Minister Modi's statement, saying, "Bad words should not be used for anyone's mother. We have never been in favor of this; it is not in our culture." However, he then hit back, accusing the Prime Minister of having himself crossed the line of decency dozens of times by using improper language for his opponents.
Tejashwi reminded everyone, saying, "This is the same Modi Ji who talked about a '50 crore ki girlfriend,' said insulting things about Sonia Gandhi and even questioned Nitish Kumar's DNA. BJP MLAs have even abused my mother and sisters inside the assembly. BJP spokespersons often insult women on live TV." He further added sarcastically, "The Prime Minister was abroad for so many days and was laughing heartily there, but as soon as he came back here, he started crying."

The Prime Minister had given an emotional statement
It is important to note that recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reacted to this issue for the first time while addressing a program related to the Bihar Jeevika Nidhi via video conference. He had emotionally said, "What did my late mother have to do with politics? What was her fault that abusive words were used for her?" After this statement from the Prime Minister, the political situation in Bihar heated up, and the NDA (the BJP-led alliance) announced the Bihar shutdown on September 4.
Tejashwi also raised questions
In his reaction, Tejashwi Yadav also targeted leaders of the BJP, NDA, and even Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He asked what wasn't said against him during the Lok Sabha elections and questioned why the BJP and the Prime Minister remained silent when abusive words were used for "a daughter of Bihar."
