The proposed high-speed bullet train connecting Varanasi and Howrah is set to pass through several villages in Jagdishpur block of Bhojpur district. In preparation, district authorities have initiated the process of identifying both government and private (raiyat) land across multiple panchayats for acquisition.

According to official sources, the Bhojpur District Magistrate has issued a public notice and directed the Jagdishpur Circle Officer to mark land falling under the train corridor’s alignment. The notice details the type of land, extent of required area, and specific Khasra numbers earmarked for acquisition under the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) project.

The high-speed rail corridor will traverse villages including Bhatauli, Bimwa, Chakwa, Dawa, Hardiya, Harigaon, Hetampur, Kataibojh, Kaura, Teer, Uttardaha, and Tulsi within the Jagdishpur block. Authorities have already prepared a route map specifying how much land is needed from each location.

Circle Officer Vishwajit Nilankar confirmed that in the first phase, revenue officials have been instructed to physically verify the land on-site, collect the names and addresses of landowners, and compile a comprehensive report to be submitted to the District Magistrate. A separate list has also been prepared identifying plots under government ownership.

Nilankar further stated that once formal instructions for land acquisition are received, land measurement and further procedural steps will begin following the issuance of public notices. The project marks a significant development in infrastructure connectivity in Bihar, with Jagdishpur becoming a notable junction in the national bullet train route.
