Railways has started work on the plan to pass bullet train at a speed of 350 km per hour in Bihar. For this, a 260 km long elevated track will be built in five districts of the state. Instructions have been issued to prepare a detailed project report for this. The agency will be selected soon by the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited.

This project is part of the Varanasi-Patna-Howrah High Speed Rail Corridor, whose total length will be about 799.293 km. Under this project, tracks will be constructed in various districts of Bihar, including Patna, Buxar, Ara, Jehanabad and Gaya. This project will be completed in two phases.

In the first phase, elevated tracks will be constructed from Varanasi DDU, Ara, Buxar, Patna and Gaya to Howrah. In the second phase, tracks will be constructed from Delhi to Varanasi.

A 60.9 km long elevated track will be built in Patna district, for which 135.06 hectares of land will be required.

The process of land acquisition for this project has already begun. Land of 58 villages has been identified in Patna district. Land owners in rural areas will be given four times the circle rate and land owners in urban areas will be given two times the compensation.

Varanasi-Patna-Howrah High Speed Train: Speed, Time, Key Features

The speed of the bullet train will be 350 kmph. This train will take three-and-a-half to four hours to travel from Varanasi to Howrah.

This train will have all kinds of modern facilities. From automatic doors to comfortable chairs. To ensure the safety of passengers in the train, adequate number of CCTV cameras will be installed in all bogies. Passengers will get delicious food on the lines of Vande Bharat.
