In a significant development on the occasion of Vishwakarma Puja and the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Nitish government of Bihar has announced a major financial aid initiative for the state's workers. A total of Rs 8,020 million will be transferred to the bank accounts of over 1.6 million workers under the Annual Clothing Assistance Scheme.
Scheme Details And Government Statement
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced the initiative in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He stated that a total of Rs 8,024,645,000 is being directly transferred to the accounts of 1,604,929 construction workers through the Bihar Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Each worker will receive a sum of Rs 5,000.

According to the Chief Minister, this assistance is aimed at improving the lives of the working class and will contribute to their social and economic development. He also highlighted the launch of the web portal for the MukhyamantriPratigya Yojana (Chief Minister's Pledge Scheme) on the same day. He reiterated the government's commitment to bringing people from the lowest strata of society into the mainstream, acknowledging the invaluable contribution of workers to the state's progress. The Chief Minister concluded his message by extending his best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday.
