With the formation of the new NDA government in Bihar, Union Minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan stated that he has no regrets over the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) decision regarding the Bihar Deputy Chief Minister's post.

When asked whether he regretted his party not being allocated the Deputy CM position, Paswan responded, “Chirag Paswan kitna or laalchi ho sakta hai?” (How much more greedy can Chirag Paswan be?)

Paswan emphasised that he did not wish to appear "greedy" by demanding the Deputy Chief Minister's post, as he expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allocating two ministerial berths to his Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in the new Bihar cabinet.

“Ab iske baad bhi mai gathbandhan se kuch maangu, to mujhse bada nashukra koi nahi hoga, mujhse bada laalchi koi nahi hoga...iske baad bhi agar mai malaal rakhunga to mujhe khushiyon ko manana nahi aata hoga...” [Even after this, if I ask for something from the alliance, then no one will be more ungrateful than me, no one will be more greedy than me... Even after this, if I keep regretting, I will not know how to celebrate happiness],” he said.

“Now, the LJP (RV) has been given two berths in the new cabinet in Bihar… It's enough. How much more greedy can Chirag Paswan be?” the Union minister remarked.

The NDA stormed back to power in Bihar, securing 202 seats in the 243-member assembly, with the BJP winning 89, JD(U) 85, LJP (RV) 19, HAM 5, and RLM 4.

The Union minister thanked Prime Minister Modi for trusting and believing in him. He said: “In 2021, there was not one person around me. My party was split... And in 2024, the PM put faith in the party and gave us five seats to contest in the Lok Sabha elections. We won all five seats. If I now ask for something from the alliance, then no one will be more greedy than me,” Paswan said when asked whether he would demand the post of Deputy CM.

Chirag Paswan announced that the LJP-R will hold a thanksgiving rally in Bihar on Makar Sankranti.

Chirag also mentioned that this tour would be used to express gratitude and connect with the public in celebration of the NDA's landslide victory in the Bihar elections. He further announced the formation of a new Dalit Sena, entrusting the responsibility to his brother-in-law and LJP-R MP from Jamui, Arun Bharti.

Chirag Paswan also revealed that the Lok Janshakti Party's foundation day will be celebrated on November 28th, with a major event planned for this in Patna. Full details will be shared soon. He added that Ram Vilas Paswan had formed the LJP on November 28th, 2000.

Paswan also expressed his intention to expand the party's presence beyond Bihar as "an NDA partner" in states like West Bengal, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh.

On receiving congratulations from RLJP leader and his uncle, Pashupati Paras, he said, “I am extremely grateful for his congratulations. Even when he abused me, I was extremely grateful. Today, he has congratulated me, so I have accepted it with pleasure.”

When asked about the NDA alliance, Chirag stated that elections are being held in various states, including Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. The party is preparing to contest these states as part of the alliance. The party's role in 2030 will be decided at that time.

“We are now seriously preparing to expand the party's base in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab. We will contest the upcoming assembly elections there as part of the NDA,” he said.
