Vice President Race: With the shocker thrown by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar in which he announced his resignation, the political landscape seems to be set for a big change, as there is a big buzz that Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader, Nitish Kumar, may replace him. If it happens, the move will be a drastic reboot of Bihar politics in view of the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
The voice for Nitish's new role emerged from his state, Bihar. Nitish Cabinet colleague - Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu and Prem Kumar, strengthened the speculations by saying that they will welcome if the chief minister goes to Delhi. Nitish's ally (BJP MLA)
Haribhushan Thakur also batted for Nitish for the Rajya Sabha Chairman post.

"He (Dhankhar) resigned due to health conditions; this is not questionable. Bihar's people will be happy if Nitish Kumar takes over (as Vice President)," Thakur said.

Another state minister, Prem Kumar said, "The Central government will decide this. I will be happy if someone from Bihar becomes the Vice President."
Harivansh Singh Also In VP Race
Nitish's name for the Vice President post cropped up amid buzz over his party fellow, Harivansh Singh. Singh is Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman and a Janata Dal (United) MP. Since, he holds a wide experience in the Parliament affairs and hailing from poll-bound Bihar, he could be the pick for the Dhankhar's role.
The sudden quit by Dhankhar prompted a hunt for the crucial post. However, the Central government remained mum on the name of the next Vice President.
