Free Aadhaar Card Update Deadline: The deadline to update your Aadhaar for free is December 14, 2024, you can update your details on the MyAadhaar Portal for free till this date. If you update your Aadhaar after December 14, you will have to pay a fee to update the information at the Aadhaar Centre. It is important to update your Aadhaar details on time so that you do not face any problems in availing the services. If you haven't updated your Aadhaar for the last 10 years then you must update it.
How to update Aadhaar Online
- First, visit the myAadhaar portal.
- Next, click on the 'Login' button. Next, enter your Aadhaar number, and captcha code and click on the 'Send OTP' button. and then 'log in'.
- Now click on the 'Document Update' button.
- Next, read the guidelines and then click on the ‘Next’ button.
- Then tick the ‘I verify that the above details are right’ box and then click on ‘Next’.
- Now click on ‘Proof of Identity’ and ‘Proof of Address’ and click on Submit.
- You will then receive a 'Service Request Number (SRN)' in the email. You can track the status of your document update from the SRN.
What is the fee for submitting documents for Aadhaar update?
If an Aadhaar holder updates his/her Aadhaar after the deadline, a fee of Rs. 50 will be charged for submitting the documents at the Aadhaar Centre.
How do I update in the centre?
If you cannot use the online facility, you can visit the nearest Aadhaar centre. Go to the 'Bhuvan Aadhaar Portal' and enter the PIN code to get the information of the centre. You can go to the centre and update your details like name, address, date of birth etc. for a fee of Rs. 50.
If your address is outdated or needs to be changed, you can simply go to the myAadhaar portal or the nearest Aadhaar centre to update. Correct documentation must be provided to change address or correct name and date of birth. The government's initiative is to keep the Aadhaar database accurate and updated so that everyone can easily access the services. Timely updates are essential.
