Automobile Sales In November 2024: The Indian automotive industry experienced different sales trends in November 2024, with major manufacturers reporting both growth and decline across various vehicle segments. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) reported a strong 12% year-over-year increase in total sales, driven by strong demand for utility vehicles and tractors. In the meantime, Ashok Leyland reported a slight 1% increase in total wholesales, with heavy commercial vehicles leading the way while light commercial vehicles declined. Despite a decline in domestic two-wheeler and commercial vehicle sales, Bajaj Auto's total sales increased by 5%, thanks to a strong export performance.

Mahindra & Mahindra November 2024 Sales

On Monday, Mahindra & Mahindra reported that its total November sales increased by 12% year-on-year to 79,083 units. The auto major shipped 70,576 units to dealers in November 2023. In the utility vehicle sector, the company sold 46,222 vehicles in the domestic market, up 16% from 39,981 units in the year-ago period, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) stated in a statement.

In total, the company sold 47,294 utility vehicles last month, including exports. Commercial vehicle domestic sales stood at 22,042 units in November of last year.

Ashok Leyland

Commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland stated on Monday that sales increased by 1% year-on-year to 14,137 units in November 2024. The company's total wholesales stood at 14,053 units in the year-ago period.

Domestic sales decreased by 4% to 12,773 units last month from 13,031 units in November 2023, Ashok Leyland said in a statement. Furthermore, domestic sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles increased by 8% to 9,176 units from 8,500 units a year ago. Sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 11% to 4,961 units last month compared to 5,553 units in November 2023, the company stated.

Bajaj Auto Sales

Bajaj Auto Ltd reported a 5% increase in total vehicle sales, including exports, year-on-year to 4,21,640 units in November, on Monday. According to a company statement, the Pune-based automaker sold 4,03,003 units in November 2023. Total domestic sales (including commercial vehicles) fell by 7% to 2,40,854 units in the previous month compared to 2,57,744 units in the same month last year.

While 1,45,259 vehicles were dispatched to international markets in November 2023, total exports grew by 24% to 1,80,786 units during the month under review, the statement said. Bajaj Auto stated that total two-wheeler volumes (domestic and export) stood at 3,68,076 units in November 2024, up 5% from 3,49,048 units sold in the same month last year.

Domestic two-wheeler sales decreased by 7% to 2,03,611 units in November 2023 from 2,18,597 units as against 1,30,451 units a year ago, it stated.
Bajaj Auto said total commercial vehicle sales (including exports) declined by 1% to 53,564 units in November 2023 from 53,955 units in November 2023.
