Adani Green Share Price: The shares of Adani Green Energy rose nearly three per cent in early trade on Tuesday after the Adani group firm said that it has expanded its total operational Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity to 3.37 GWh at Khavda, Gujarat.
The green energy sector stock started the session flat at Rs 1,410; however, the company's shares picked up the momentum post the announcement amid some buying interest. It touched an early high at Rs 1,446.20, up 2.5 per cent from last day's closing of Rs 1,411.10.
Adani Green Expands Operations
The Adani Group company said in a statement that it has increased its total operational BESS capacity to 3.37 GWh, including 1.37 GWh added in March 2026 at Khavda, where it is building a 30 GW renewable energy park, of which 9.9 GW is already operational.
Outside China, this is the world's largest single-site battery storage deployment and one of the fastest battery storage deployments worldwide, it added.
AGEL's 3.37 GWh BESS can store enough clean energy to power approximately 1 million homes for an entire day, meeting the peak electricity demand of cities like Indore and Chandigarh or the entire state of Goa.
It can also power over 12 million LED bulbs for 10 hours continuously. AGEL said the commissioning marks a major milestone in grid reliability, peak-hour supply, and the deployment of renewable energy to deliver reliable, round-the-clock power. He added that he plans to add more than 10 GWh of battery storage capacity by FY2027 and increase this to 50 GWh over the next five years.

"Large-scale energy storage will play a defining role in the next phase of India's clean energy transition. As renewable energy capacity scales rapidly, storage infrastructure becomes critical for delivering reliable, round-the-clock clean power. Our investments in battery storage reflect a long-term commitment to building future-ready clean energy infrastructure at a global scale," Sagar Adani, Executive Director, AGEL, said.
The company develops, owns, and operates utility-scale grid-connected solar, wind, hybrid, and energy storage solutions. Currently, the company has an operating renewable portfolio of 19.7 GW, the largest in India, spread across 12 states.
