Indian telcom operator Bharti Airtel is offering a free one-year subscription to Perplexity Pro, a premium AI-powered search assistant. The subscription, normally priced at around Rs 17,000 annually, is now available at no cost to all Airtel customers, including prepaid and postpaid mobile users, home broadband subscribers, and DTH users. This offer marks a major tech partnership, as it is Perplexity AI’s first tie-up with an Indian company.
Airtel sees this as a strategic step to attract new customers and retain its base in the ongoing battle with Jio and other telecom rivals. The service is being rolled out to more than 360 million Airtel users across India. According to a PTI report, Perplexity AI is backed by NVIDIA-powered GPUs and has been positioned as a strong alternative to AI models from companies like Alphabet (Google).

How Airtel Users Can Activate Their Free Perplexity Pro Subscription:
- Open the Airtel Thanks App on your smartphone.
- Go to the Rewards or Rewards & OTT section.
- Look for the Perplexity Pro banner and tap on it.
- Click on Claim Now.
- You’ll be redirected to Perplexity’s website or app—log in or sign up.
- Your free 12-month subscription will be activated—no payment details required.
The offer is valid for activation until January 17, 2026, and once activated, it remains free for one full year. After Airtel’s announcement, Perplexity surged to the top spot on India’s iOS App Store, even overtaking ChatGPT, showing just how quickly users are embracing next-gen AI tools.
