Bank Holiday List In May 2025: It's critical to keep up with bank holidays as we approach May 2025 to prevent any disruptions to your financial obligations. Banks nationwide will be closed for a total of 12 day in May 2025, including weekends and state-specific holidays. In order to prevent any last-minute inconvenience, you need to schedule your important banking work around these holidays.
Weekend Holiday In May
Six of the twelve holidays fall on regular weekly off days:
May 4, 11, 18, and 25 are Sundays.
Saturday the second: May 10
May 24 is the fourth Saturday.
State-wise Bank Holiday
In addition to weekends, banks in different states will observe holidays because of significant events and local festivals. The following are the important dates according to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) holiday calendar.
- Banks in Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Imphal, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, and Thiruvananthapuram are closed on Thursday, May 1, which is also Maharashtra Day and Labour Day.
- Banks in Kolkata are closed on Friday, May 9, Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti.
- Bank branches Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Dehradun, Itanagar, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, and Srinagar are all closed on Monday, May 12, Buddha Purnima.
On Friday, May 16, which is the State Day of Sikkim, banks in Gangtok are closed.
On Monday, May 26, Kazi Nazrul Islam Jayanti, Agartala banks are closed.
On Thursday, May 29, Maharana Pratap Jayanti, Shimla's banks are closed.
Online Banking Will Continue to Operate
Digital banking services like UPI, Net Banking, Mobile Banking, and IMPS will be fully operational around the clock, despite the fact that physical bank branches will be closed on these dates. Consumers can seamlessly proceed with their online transactions.
