Bank Holiday On Chhath Pooja 2024: After Diwali, the auspicious festival of Chhath Pooja 2024 approaches. Banks in several states will witness a four-day bank holiday, which can impact customers in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and West Bengal, hence it is important to prepare for banking operations. According to the RBI's official bank holiday schedule, November 7 and 8 have been declared public holidays in certain states in India.
Bank Holiday On Chhath 2024
According to the RBI holiday calendar, bank branches will be closed on November 7th and 8th. On November 7, banks in Bihar, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, and West Bengal will be closed due to Chhath Mahaparva evening prayers. On November 8th (Friday), banks will be closed in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya for Chhath Pooja morning prayers.

Banks will remain closed for four days
Following Chhath, banks will be closed for the next two days. All banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. Thus, on November 9th, which is the second Saturday, banks will be closed. The fourth holiday will be on Sunday.
Banks will remain open on Chhath in these states
According to the Reserve Bank of India's holiday list for 2024, there will be no holiday in banks in Agartala, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Belapur, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Dehradun, Guwahati, Imphal, Itanagar, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kohima, Kochi, Mumbai on the day of Chhath Puja. Banks will be open on November 7 and 8 at these places.
Bank Holidays In November
On November 15th (Friday), banks will be closed in Bengal, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Hyderabad-Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, and Nagaland. This holiday has been given on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartika Purnima, and Rahas Purnima. Aside from that, banks will be closed on November 18th on the occasion of Kanakdas Jayanti. Banks will also be closed on November 23rd on the occasion of Seng Kutsnem.
