Bank Holiday Today: All scheduled and non-scheduled banks in India follow the calendar of the Reserve Bank of India, and the same applies to the holidays listed in the RBI calendar. On several occasions, some states observe holidays while others operate on their normal business hours, leading to confusion among customers.

Another holiday that confuses customers regarding bank closures is Saturday. Often, customers get confused about whether banks are open or shut on certain Saturdays.

Are Banks Closed Today?

- Yes, all government and private sector banks will remain closed today on Saturday, September 13, as it is the second Saturday of the month. According to the RBI roster, all the banks observe a holiday on the second and fourth Saturday of a month, or say there’s a bank holiday every alternate Saturday.

- In September, the second and fourth Saturdays fall on September 13 and September 27, respectively, hence all the banks will observe a holiday on these two dates.

Banks will observe holidays on several other days in September due to regional and religious festivals, occasions, and regular weekends. Banks across the state and union territories will be available for limited days this month as big festivals like Navratri, Durga Puja are scheduled ahead.

Not just banks, government offices, schools, and many public institutions will observe a holiday on these days.

List Of Bank Holidays In September 2025

- On September 22: There will be a holiday in Rajasthan banks to observe Navratra Sthapna

- On September 23: Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Kashmir for the Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji.

- On September 27: It is the fourth Saturday, and all the banks in the country will observe a holiday.

- On September 29: Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Gangtok, and Kolkata for Maha Saptami/Durga Puja.

- On September 30: Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Imphal, Jaipur, Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna, and Ranchi for Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami/Durga Puja.
