Bank Holiday Today: According to the region-wise holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India, Banks in Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed Today to mark the first Friday after Eid-e-Milad.

- The banks will remain closed as the first Friday after Eid-e-Milad is observed as a holiday in Jammu and Kashmir. However, banks in other states will remain working and operate as per their usual timing and work schedule.

- The banks will remain closed only in Jammu and Kashmir, given the comparatively higher muslim population in the state.

- Eid-e-Milad is celebrated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad. The occasion falls on the 12th day of Rabi' al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar. The first Friday prayer is particularly special in Jammu and Kashmir.

- Banks in Rajasthan will be closed on Monday, September 22, 2025, in addition to today, to observe Navratri Sthapna. Here's a breakdown of the bank holidays.

When Are Banks Usually Closed

The banks are generally closed on national, religious festivals, or region-specific special days apart from Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays.

Banks Closed: List Of Holidays In September

- On September 23: Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Kashmir for the Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji.

- On September 29: Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Gangtok, and Kolkata for Maha Saptami/Durga Puja.

- On September 30: Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Imphal, Jaipur, Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna, and Ranchi for Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami/Durga Puja.
