Bank Holidays List In September 2025: Banks across India will remain closed on several days in the month of September due to holidays for festivals, including Onam, Mahalaya, and Navratri or Durga Puja, among others. As a result, several states will observe public holidays in September. Banks, government institutions, and schools are expected to remain closed during this time period.

Apart from these holidays, all banks will remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays, as per the weekly offs scheduled by the RBI. According to the official calendar of the RBI, a total of 15 days will see banks closed for various festivals in different parts of the country in September.

While banking activities are expected to take a hit, UPI transactions, net banking, ATM, and other facilities will run as usual. The only disruptions that can occur will be for cash deposits and withdrawal facilities. Naturally, customers have to plan their cash transactions accordingly.
