Bank Holiday Tomorrow: Bank Holiday in September 2025: Banks will remain closed in some parts of the country on Friday, September 5, due to the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi and Onam festivities. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) sets specific days when banks are closed to the public. A bank holiday is a day when financial institutions are closed for regular business operations, so customers are unable to visit branches to deposit or withdraw money.
The banks will remain closed due to Eid-e-Milad-Un-Nabi, also known as (Bara Wafat), which falls on the 12th day of the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, which is on September 5 as per the Gregorian calendar. It is observed by Muslims nationwide, and several offices and government institutions also remain closed on this day. Meanwhile, Onam, which is an annual harvest festival, is celebrated in many parts of the country, mainly in Kerala. The 10-day festival will end on September 5.
