How to get locker facility in bank: A bank locker is a secure location where you can keep your valuable objects like jewelry, documents, and other important things. Almost each bank provides a locker facility to its customers but it comes with some conditions.
As we have mentioned above locker service is available in most banks, but it is not available in all branches. Therefore, you should know where you can get this facility and what is criteria to avail a locker service.
A Bank account
If you want t apply for a bank locker, you must have a savings or current account with the bank. You will also need to submit your PAN card or Aadhaar card, and a passport-sized photo for identification and address proof.

Types of lockers- Banks offer small, medium, and large lockers. The allocation of lockers depends on their availability, so there may be a waiting period. When your turn come, you will be allotted a locker.
Security deposit- You will need to pay a security deposit to rent a bank locker. This deposit can be made in the form of a fixed deposit or cash. The deposit will be returned to you when you end the locker service.
The cost of renting a locker depends on the location of the bank branch and the size of the locker. You may also be charged extra if you open the locker more than the allowed number of times.
Are lockers safe?
Bank lockers are safe, but they are not completely risk-free. Most banks make it clear that they are not responsible for the materials placed in locker. Therefore, you must get an insurance for it. You should also nominate a family member, who can use the locker in case of your death. The banks provide you a key to the locker, while they own a master key for the same.
Bank lockers are a good way to keep your valuables safe, but it is important to be aware of all the rules and expenses involved.
