Brent Crude Price Today: Crude oil prices skyrocketed over 25 per cent on March 9 as escalating tension in the Middle East halted the mining and trading of oil from the Gulf region. The Strait of Hormuz, the vital trade route in the Persian Gulf, has remained closed since the US-Iran-Israel war broke out early this month. The retaliatory action from both sides seems tobe worsening the situation, showing no little hope of things settling down in quick time.

Brent Crude has not only surpassed $the $100per barrel milestone, but it soared far near $120. At the time of writing, Brent Crude price was trading at $117.73 per barrel, up 27 per cent pf $25. Similarly, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was up by $25.6 or 28.2 per cent to $116.5 per barrel.

Meanwhile, the oil price surged in the domestic futures market as well. Crude oil (26 March expiry) was trading at 10,119 per barrel, up 21 per cent.
