Bank Holidays In October 2025: As festivities approach, banks across India are expected to remain closed due to Diwali, Kali Puja and Naraka Chaturdashi starting from Monday, October 20. The festive holidays will continue till Thursday, October 23. However, the bank holidays will differ according to regional calendars. 

Customers are advised to plan all their financial activities well in advance to avoid any inconveniences. In-person banking activities will not be available. However, the customers will be able to access other banking services such as ATMs, online banking, and UPI.

The festive break will continue with Diwali (Bali Pratipada), Vikram Samvat New Year, Govardhan Puja, and Balipadyami, resulting in bank closures in various regions. This will be followed by another set of holidays on October 23, marking Bhai Dooj, Chitragupt Jayanti, Laxmi Puja (Deepawali), Bhratridwitiya, and Ningol Chakkouba.

In Which States Will Banks Be Closed?

Banks across the country will be closed owing to the festive occasions. However, in some parts of the country, banks will remain open which are listed below:
