There's good news for Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) account holders. The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has begun crediting interest for the financial year 2024-2025. In a recent announcement, Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya confirmed that a large chunk of EPF accounts have already received their interest payments, and the process is expected to be completed soon. This means it's highly likely that your account has been credited too.
If you're wondering whether your EPF account has received its due interest, don't worry. There are several convenient ways to check your balance and verify the credit. Let us walk you through those steps:
Multiple Ways to Check Your EPF Interest
Nowadays, you have multiple ways to find out if the interest money has landed in your EPF account, offering flexibility whether you prefer online portals or mobile apps.
Check EPFO Interest Rate Through EPFO Website
Please note that this method is convenient for those who are comfortable with online portals. Here are the steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website. Start by navigating to the official EPFO website.
Step 2: Go to the member passbook. Once you are on the website, look for the "Our Services" section, then select "For Employees," and finally, "Member Passbook" option.
Step 3: Log in to the portal. You will need to log in using your UAN (Universal Account Number) and password.
Step 4: Check your transactions. After logging in, you can view your passbook. Look for recent transactions to confirm if the interest amount for 2024-25 has been credited.
Check EPFO Interest via Umang App
The UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app is a handy mobile application that provides access to various government services, including EPFO. If you want to check your EPF account balance through the Umang app, follow these steps:

Alternatively, if you remember your previous balance, you can compare it with the current balance to confirm the interest credit.
Check EPFO Interest Via SMS
For a quick and simple balance check, especially if you prefer not to use apps or websites, the SMS service is quite useful. To use the SMS service for checking the EPF balance, follow these steps:
