FAStag KYC: Vehicle owners who often use highways or expressways to commute need to update their KYC before January 32. Failing to do so would lead to deactivation of your existing FasTag account.
Earlier, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) notified that all vehicle owners have to update their FAStag KYC details before January 31, failing which the account will be deactivated even if there is enough balance in it.
The government decided to prevent the issuance of multiple FASTags for the same vehicle. It would also prevent the distribution of the FASTags without KYC verification.
FASTag is a system to collect tolls using an electronic system, which simplifies the payment process at all toll plazas. The service works through the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.
