Gold Price Hike: Gold and silver prices have been on a steady decline since the festive season ended. Demand for both precious metals had surged in the weeks leading up to and during Diwali, driving prices upward. In October 2025, around the Diwali period, the price of 10 grams of gold crossed Rs 1,32,000. However, following the festival, gold prices began to ease, settling around Rs 1,20,000 in recent days.
On November 10, gold prices witnessed a sudden uptick with silver showing an even sharper rise. What triggered the unexpected surge? Could it be the seasonal increase in demand driven by the wedding season or something else?
Gold Price Hike: Reason Behind The Rise
The US federal shutdown may end soon. Expectations of a Fed rate cut next month have further weakened the US dollar. Meanwhile, China's central bank, the People's Bank of India (PBOC), purchased gold for the 12th consecutive month in October. These factors are contributing to the rise in gold prices.
How Much Can The Prices Rise Further?
With the US government shutdown ending, investors' attention may once again be focused on US Fed rates. However, upcoming US data may show a slowdown in the economy.
Along with this, gold can get support from increasing demand from China and rising inflation.
When To Buy Gold?
It's best to buy gold during a downturn. Buying gold during a downturn will give you more units at a lower price, which will benefit you during the time when the price is rising.
