Gold Rate Today: The Bullion prices fell in the domestic and international market on January 8, continuing the losing momentum amid profit booking post a brief rally this year. Silver rate dipped over Rs 3,000 in the domestic futures market as the Silver contract (March Expiry) fell to a level of Rs 2,47,529 per kilogram Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) against its last session's closing of Rs 2,50,605.

Meanwhile, the MCX Gold (February 5 Expiry) fell around Rs 900 in early trade to Rs 1,37,148 per 10 grams as compared to last day's closing of Rs 1,38,009.

At around 10:27 AM, the MCX Silver was trading at Rs 2,47,825 per kg, down Rs 2,780 or 1.11 per cent. At the same time, MCX gold was at Rs 1,37,116, down Rs 893 or 0.65 per cent.

Gold Rate Today: International Market

At the time of writing, the Comex gold was at $4,439.0 per ounce, down $23.50 or o.53 per cent. Meanwhile, Comex Silver dipped $0.34 or 0.44 per cent to $77.270.

"Profit booking continues to emerge at higher levels, which is healthy within a strong uptrend and offers disciplined traders opportunities to manage risk," said Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money.

"A clean breakout above $4,500 could quickly open the path toward $4,550–$4,600. The $4,400–$4,420 zone continues to offer an attractive risk-reward accumulation area, with no higher-timeframe reversal signals visible," Ponmudi added.

Gold Rate Today In India (January 8)

In the domestic retail market, the prices of gold and silver dipped as well. The 24-Karat gold price today in India is Rs 1,37,570 per 10 grams, while the 22-Karat gold rate is Rs 1,26,106 per 10 grams.

Silver Price Today: The Silver rate today in India is Rs 2,48,010 per kilogram in the domestic retail market. The price translates into Rs 2,480 per 10 grams and Rs 24,801 per 100 grams.
