Gold and silver prices continue to skyrocket daily. While gold is inching upwards steadily, silver is witnessing a stormy rally. Both metals are setting new records in both international and domestic markets. Continuing this trend, gold and silver broke records once again on Tuesday, December 23. On the IBJA, 24-carat gold jumped by more than Rs 2,500, while silver prices saw a surge of over Rs 3,400. Both metals once again hit their all-time highs on the MCX.

Gold And Silver Rates On MCX Today

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), as of 5:00 pm , 24-carat gold with a February 2026 expiry was trading at Rs 1,38,145 per 10 gram s, marking a jump of 1.02 per cent. It registered a gain of Rs 1,401 from the previous trading session. During trading, it touched a high of Rs 1,38,444 and a low of Rs 1,37,826. It had closed at Rs 1,36,744 on Monday.

Meanwhile, silver with a March 2026 expiry was trading at Rs 2,15,549 per kilogram , up by 1.26 per cent. It saw a jump of Rs 2,677 compared to Monday. During the session, its high was Rs 2,16,596 and its low was Rs 2,14,498. It had closed at Rs 2,12,872 in the previous trading session.

Gold And Silver Prices On IBJA Today

According to the 5:00 pm rates from the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), 24-carat gold becam e dearer by Rs 2,549, reaching Rs 1,36,283 per 10 gram s. On Monday, its price was Rs 1,33,584. Meanwhile, silver saw a massive jump of Rs 3,450, taking the price to Rs 2,11,000 per kilogram . Its price on Monday was Rs 2,07,550.

Silver Prices Up By 130 per cent

This Year Naveen Mathur of Anand Rathi Brokers states that silver has climbed by over 130 per cent this year. According to Rahul Kalantri of Mehta Equities, the trend remains positive going forward. Experts believe that a further rise of 15-20 per cent is possible in silver next year, although there may be intermittent fluctuations.
