Haryana Budget 2024: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Kahttar on Friday presented the final budget of his second term in the state Assembly. The Chief Minister made many big announcements emphasizing the development of the state.

Haryana Budget 2024: Top announcement

450 AC electric buses

- Recently, AC electric bus service has been started in Panipat and Yamunanagar through Haryana City Bus Service Corporation Limited and will start in Karnal and Panchkula in mid-March, 2024. City bus services are likely to start in the remaining five cities by June 2024. For this, a total of 450 AC electric buses will be operated.

- Considering the growing concern over air pollution in the National Capital Region and the demand from e-rickshaw owners, a one-time fee for e-rickshaws will be levied instead of an annual fee.

Electric Scooter for Girls

To provide higher education to the daughters of construction workers, a scheme has been launched to provide financial assistance of Rs 50,000 or the actual ex-showroom price of the electric scooter, whichever is lower, announced CM.

Credit-guarantee for gig worker

Proposal to launch a new scheme wherein a gig worker will be provided a credit guarantee of up to Rs 45,000 without any interest to purchase an electric scooter or a loan of Rs 5,000 for the actual ex-showroom price of the electric scooter, whichever is lower.

Rs 1 crore Martyred Family

The CM announced that the ex-gratia amount of Rs 50 lakh being given to the families of soldiers martyred in the war will be increased to Rs 1 crore.

Other announcements

- Proposal to give one drone each to women's self-help groups
CM said that during the year 2024-25

- The government has made a provision of 33 per cent reservation for women applicants in fair price ration shops, in which priority will be given to acid attack victims and widows.

- CM informed that in the year 2023-24, it was announced to construct an 800 MW Armal Power Plant in Yamunanagar. The tender for its construction for Rs 6,000 crore has recently been given to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited.

- Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha and Utthan Mahabhiyan (PMKUSUM), the target is to install 70,000 additional solar pumps in the year 2024-25.

The pension of media workers has increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 per month. Presently 193 media persons are availing the benefit of monthly pension.

- CM Manohar Lal announced a waiver of interest and penalty on loans of more than five lakh farmers. He said that interest and penalty will be waived off for farmers who deposit their loans till 30th September 2023 by 31st May 2024.
