IRCTC Website Down: IRCTC customers faced trouble while booking train tickets on the website and the application on Tuesday due to a technical glitch. Ticket seekers raised the issue in the early morning hours when they were unable to book their train tickets. The IRCTC was prompt to acknowledge the issue and said that its technical team is resolving the issue. In a tweet, the IRCTC said, “Due to technical reasons the ticketing service is not available. Our technical team is resolving the issue. We will notify as soon as the technical issue is fixed.”
Another IRCTC tweet stated: “Due to technical reasons, the ticketing service is not available on IRCTC site and App. Technical team of CRIS is resolving the issue. Alternatively tickets can be booked through other B2C players like Amazon, Makemytrip etc.”
The issue came to the forefront after several users shared screenshots of the error message.
How To book train tickets using Amazon App?
Go to Amazon Pay homepage on your Amazon.in app or Amazon.in mobile web browser and click the Trains icon. You can also type 'Trains' in the product search bar to go to the train tickets booking page.
- Once you have reached the train tickets booking page, under Book Tickets > select Trains
- Enter the destinations of travel, select stations
- Enter the rest of the details like the dates of travel.
Note: You need to log in to your Amazon.in account to book train tickets on Amazon
How to book a train ticket on the MakeMyTrip App?
- Open the MakeMyTrip app and tap on the ‘Trains & Metro’ icon.
- Enter the source and destination stations and select your date of travel.
- Tap on the SEARCH button.
- Select your desired train and choose the class of travel, as per your convenience.
- Enter your IRCTC User ID, fill in the passenger details and proceed to the payment section.
- Select your preferred payment option and make the payment.
- Once the payment is done, re-enter your IRCTC password, decode the captcha and tap on the ‘Submit’ button.
- You will get your booked e-Ticket on both SMS and Email
