Rules Changing from August 1, 2024: Every month changes in some financial rules and regulations take place. Many laws will also be altered in August and that will have a direct impact on common citizens. Next month, The country's largest private sector lender HDFC Bank will modify its credit card rules, and Google will also alter Google Maps charges in India. These new laws will take effect on 1st August 2024. Below are the things that will be changing next month.
LPG Gas Cylinder Price
LPG gas cylinder rates are set on the very first day of every month. The government reduced the cost of a 19 kg commercial cylinder last month. It's speculated that the government will lower the cost of the cylinder this time as well.
Google Maps to reduce charges by 70%
Google Maps has made significant changes to its rules in India, which will be applicable throughout the country starting on August 1, 2024. The company has reduced the charges for its services in India by up to 70%. In addition, Google Maps will now charge for its services in Indian Rupees rather than Dollars. However, this change will not affect the regular users as no extra charge has been levied on them.

Change in HDFC Bank Credit Card Rules - Transaction Charge
Customers using CRED, Cheq, MobiKwik, Freecharge, and other similar services to pay rent will be charged 1% of the transaction amount, which will be restricted to Rs 3,000 per transaction. Fuel transactions will not attract any extra charge for transactions under Rs 15,000 per transaction. However, transactions over Rs 15,000 will attract a 1% charge on the total amount, restricted to Rs 3,000 per transaction.
Utility transactions
Transactions under Rs 50,000 will not attract any additional charge. Transactions over Rs 50,000 will attract a 1% charge on the whole amount, restricted to Rs 3,000 per transaction. It's crucial to note that insurance transactions are exempt from this charge. Payments made directly via college or school websites or their POS devices will be charge-free. However, transactions made using third-party apps like CRED, Cheq, MobiKwik, and others will attract a 1% charge, limited to Rs 3,000 per transaction.
The delayed payment charge process has been modified based on the outstanding amount from Rs 100 to Rs 1,300. Using the Easy-EMI alternative at any online or offline store will attract an EMI processing charge of up to Rs 299. HDFC Bank stated that all of the charges mentioned above are subject to GST following government regulations. Aside from that, HDFC Bank will implement the adjustments to its Tata Neu Infinity and Tata Neu Plus credit cards starting on August 1, 2024. Starting on August 1, 2024, users of the Tata New Infinity HDFC Bank credit card will get 1.5% NewCoins on eligible UPI transactions made using the Tata New UPI ID.
