Maharashtra Budget Key Highlights: Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, presented the budget on Friday, which was the last scheme before the state assembly elections that are scheduled for later this year. In the last budget for the current coalition government, the Finance Minister announced a financial assistance scheme for women aged 21-60. We are announcing the Mukhyanantri Majhi Ladki Bahin and under this, all women will be given Rs 1,500 per month. The scheme will be implemented from July 2024, Pawar told the assembly.

The scheme is in line with a similar incentive offered by the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, which is believed to play a major role in the party retaining power in the state. The tax on diesel is being reduced from 24 percent to 21 percent in the Mumbai region, which means a reduction of Rs 2 per liter. In the Mumbai region, the tax on petrol was also reduced from 26% to 25%, a decrease of 65 paise per liter.

The following are the key highlights of the Maharashtra Budget:

-  PM Annapurna Yojana will provide 3 gas cylinders to every eligible household. This is expected to benefit 52,16,412 families.
- Beneficiaries of Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana and Shravan Bal Yojana will get a financial benefit of Rs 15,000 instead of Rs 1,000.
- A new Greek college will be established in Rigad.

- Solar energy pumps will be distributed to farmers to obtain free electricity. More than 8 thousand farmers will benefit.
- Financial assistance worth Rs 15,000 crore has been approved by NABARD to complete incomplete irrigation projects.
- A subsidy of Rs 5 per liter will be provided to cow milk producers from July 1.

-  An international standard scuba diving center will be established in Sindhudurg. This is expected to provide employment opportunities for 500 to 1,000 local residents.
- Dharmavir Anand Dighe Gharkul Yojana for the disabled will be launched. More than 34 thousand homes will be built in the first phase.
- PM's plan to train youth to work will aim to train 10,000 young people annually from various educational institutions. Each trainee will receive a tuition fee of Rs 10,000 per month.

- As many as 15,000 women in the state have become Lakhpati Didis and the target is to make 25,000 women Lakhpati Didis in the current financial year.
- Funds will be given to 10,000 women in 17 cities to buy pink rickshaws

-  A subsidy of Rs 175 per crop will be given to encourage bamboo cultivation.
- Water landfills will be established in 100 locations for the first time.
- Cotton and soybean farmers will be given financial assistance of Rs 5,000 per hectare within 2 hectares in Kharif marketing season 23-24.
- One hundred per cent tuition reimbursement for OBC girls and economically weaker girls with income up to Rs 8 lakh to increase the proportion of girls in vocational education.
