Mukesh Ambani Becomes Asia's Reachest Man:  Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani On Friday crossed the $100 billion mark and has overtaken Gautam Adani to become Asia's richest man again.

The RIL chairman, who slipped to 13th place on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, became India's richest man on January 12 with a net worth of $102 billion. As per a Bloomberg report, Ambani added nearly $3 billion to his net worth in 24 hours.

Ambani became $2.8 billion richer than a day earlier after shares of Reliance rallied on the Indian stock market on Thursday, joining the $100 billion club, according to Bloomberg data.

Shares of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) have risen 22 per cent since October 2023, after the company reported its quarterly profit (Q3). Mukesh Ambani holds a 42 per cent stake in the company, adding to his wealth significantly after the share price rallied.

A week ago, Adani overtook Ambani on the Bloomberg index with a net worth of $96 billion, while the Adani Group chairman became Asia's richest man with a net worth of $96.7 billion.

Only 12 people in $100 billion club

There are only 12 people worldwide who are part of the $100 billion club, including Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos. Ambani is the newest member to the club. Elon Musk, the world's richest man, is the only person with a net worth of more than $200 billion.

Meanwhile, In the last five trading sessions on the Indian stock market, Reliance Industries' share prices have risen more than 3 per cent, and the stock has gained 12 per cent in the past month.

Reliance's market capitalization crossed the ₹ 18 lakh crore mark on Thursday, catapulting Ambani to a place on the global rich list.
