Mutual Fund Inflow In November: Amid rising volatility owing to several macroeconomic variables, geopolitical events, and the US election outcomes, equity mutual funds in November reported net inflows of Rs 35,943 crore, which indicates a 14% decrease on a month-to-month basis. On the other hand, figures from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) released on Tuesday showed equity-oriented funds registered net inflows for the 45th consecutive month, which indicated the growing popularity of mutual funds among investors.
Overall, the mutual fund industry recorded net inflows of Rs 2.4 lakh crore in October, down from Rs 60,295 crore observed in the month under review.
Despite the drop, the industry’s net assets under management increased from Rs 67.25 lakh crore in October to Rs 68.08 lakh crore last month.
According to the data, equity-oriented schemes received Rs 35,943 crore in November, as against a record inflow of Rs 41,887 crore in October.
Among equity schemes, sectoral themes attracted investors the most with net inflows of Rs7,658 crore during the month under review. However, investments in the sector were lower than Rs 12,279 crore in October and Rs 13,255 crore in September.

Investments in large-cap funds decreased to Rs 2,548 crore in November from Rs 3,452 crore in October, whereas those in small-cap funds rose to Rs 4,112 crore from Rs 3,772 crore. Although there has been a shift from low-risk categories such as large-cap and hybrid funds to higher-risk options like small-cap funds, NFO activity has slowed down in the past month.
