  3. MCX futures for gold and silver also saw significant drops.

Gold Silver rate continued their losing momentum on Friday, September 11, as well, due to elevated crude prices and higher inflation expectations. Gold Futures, October 5 expiry, declined over Rs 1,770 to Rs 1,50,744 per 10 grams as compared to the last closing of Rs 1,52,519 on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). "Gold is heading for a weekly decline as higher oil prices and firmer inflation expectations strengthen expectations for a less accommodative Federal Reserve policy, adding pressure on the precious metal. U.S. CPI data and the Fed's upcoming policy decision are likely to remain key drivers of gold prices in the near term," said Ponmudi R, CEO Of Enrich Money.

Gold, Silver Prices In Morning, September 10

Gold and silver prices remained lower throughout the day in the domestic and retail market amid a rise in crude prices and subdued spot demand. At around 5:00 PM, the gold futures contract, October 5 expiry, traded Rs 557 or 0.36 per cent lower to Rs 1,53,206 per 10 grams on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).

Meanwhile, the silver futures contract declined significantly to a level of Rs 2,38,951 per kilogram, down Rs 5,262 or 2.15 per cent on MCX. MCX Silver closed at Rs 2,44,213 per kilogram on Wednesday.

Gold and silver prices have remained volatile over the past few sessions, with prices sluggish at market open and then declining further as the evening approaches. The prices of both precious metals declined in early trade in the global market and the domestic futures market. On COMEX, the gold price fell a bit to trade at the level of $4,457 per ounce; it dipped nearly Rs 100 on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) to a level of Rs 1.53 lakh per 10 grams in early trade.

Precious metals faced downward pressure in international trading on COMEX. Gold edged down 0.07% to $4,457.80 per ounce, while silver recorded a sharper decline of 0.80%, falling to $68.095 per ounce.

"COMEX Gold is trading near $4,450, down 0.20%, holding below its 20-EMA, pressured by rising oil prices. Immediate resistance is at $4,500-4,530, and a break above targets the next resistance at $4,600-4,630. Immediate support is at $4,400-4,370 (50/100-day EMA), with next support at $4,300-4,270. RSI at 51, hovering near the neutral 50 and edging lower, points to fading momentum rather than a clean reversal," said Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money.

MCX Gold and Silver Rates On Sep 10

Reflecting global trends, domestic futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) also dropped. Gold declined by Rs 113 to trade at Rs 1,53,690 per 10 grams, while silver slipped by Rs 1,150 around 9:00 AM to reach Rs 2,43,108 per kilogram.

"MCX Gold is trading on a largely flat note, capped below its 20-EMA and its immediate resistance. Immediate resistance is at Rs 154,000-154,700, and a break above targets the next resistance at Rs 156,300-157,000. Immediate support is at Rs 150,700-150,000, with the 100-day EMA acting as an intermediate cushion; a break below this could drag prices toward Rs 148,000," said Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money.
