PM Kisan 20th Installment date: The latest installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is set to be released soon. The PM Kisan Scheme is a central government initiative that provides financial assistance to eligible farmer families by offering a stipend of Rs 6,000 annually, disbursed in three installments of Rs 2,000 each. With the harvest season nearing its end, over 9 crore farmers are eligible and encouraged to take advantage of this scheme to receive its full benefits and support their agricultural activities.

The scheme has been widely lauded for providing direct income support and financial stability to many farmers across India. Given its significant number of beneficiaries, the 20th installment of Rs 2,000 each to eligible farmers is set to be released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an event in Varanasi on August 2, 2025.

This announcement was made via the official PM Kisan Samman Nidhi account on X. Farmers are advised that once they hear the notification tone, they should know that the amount has been transferred to their bank account. The PM Kisan 19th installment was released on February 24, 2025.

In light of the upcoming installment, farmers are strongly advised to ensure they have completed their e-KYC and other required verifications to avoid missing out on the payment.

The Ministry of Agriculture earlier reiterated that land seeding, along with Aadhaar-based payment and e-KYC, has been made mandatory for beneficiaries.

Farmers who have not completed their required verification have had their payments stopped temporarily. However, they will receive their benefits once these requirements are fulfilled.

PM Kisan: How To Complete e-KYC?

As the installment is expected to be released soon, eligible farmers are required to complete their e-KYC registration to prevent any payment failures. It's crucial to note that e-KYC is mandatory for all PM Kisan beneficiaries. Without it, their names may be dropped from the beneficiary list.

The government has mandated e-KYC to ensure that only eligible farmers receive the benefits and to prevent fraudulent claims by verifying beneficiaries' identities. E-KYC can be completed through three simple ways: OTP-based authentication, biometric e-KYC, and facial authentication.

How To Check Your Beneficiary Status:

Step 1: Visit the official PM Kisan website: www.pmkisan.gov.in

Step 2: Click on 'Know Your Status' under 'Farmers Corner'.

Step 3: Enter your registration number or Aadhaar number.

Step 4: Check whether your name is on the beneficiary list.

Step 5: Also, ensure that your e-KYC is completed, as it is mandatory for installment release.

To alleviate farmers' financial stress and provide them with direct support, the PM Kisan scheme was launched in February 2019 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, though the announcement was made in the interim budget by then-Finance Minister Piyush Goyal. It is widely regarded as one of the world's largest direct cash transfer schemes, aiming to reduce farmers' financial burdens and help them manage farming costs. Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months, totaling Rs 6,000 annually. The payment cycles are April-July, August-November, and December-March. The money is deposited directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
