Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Monday inaugurated Bharat Tex – 2024 at Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam. The event is one of the largest-ever global textile events which is being organised in the country.

Bharat Tex will be organised from Monday to Thursday.

Speaking at the event, PM Modi said, “We are working to further increase the contribution of the textile sector in building a developed India. Valuation of India’s textile sector has crossed Rs 12 lakh crore.”

“The way a loom joins threads together, this event is combining threads of India and the world,” he added.

“We are connecting all elements of the textile value chain with five Fs…This journey of the five F’s – farm, fibre, factory, fashion and foreign, in a way the whole scene is in front of us, keeping this principle of the five Fs in mind, we are encouraging farmers, MSMEs, and exports,” PM Modi said.

“We have also amended the definition of MSME in terms of investment and turnover, this will increase the scale and size of the industries. Even after growing up, they will be able to get the benefits of government schemes.”

BharatTex-2024 showcases India's expertise in the textile sector and reaffirms its position as a global textile powerhouse. Organized by a consortium of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils and supported by the Centre, Bharat TEX - 2024 has a broad focus on sustainability on the twin pillars of trade and investment.

The four-day Bharat Tex-2024, a global textile event,  will feature more than 65 knowledge sessions and around 100 global panellists will discuss various issues related to the sector.
