After a third consecutive victory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, on June 18. Narendra Modi's first visit after becoming Prime Minister for a third consecutive time will be dedicated to the farmers. The Prime Minister will launch numerous schemes aimed at improving the welfare of farmers, like virtual Kisan credit cards, and will also distribute the benefits of the already-running schemes to the beneficiaries.

PM to release 17th installment

During his visit, the Prime Minister will communicate with the farmers and deposit the next installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi in the accounts of farmers across the nation. He will launch the Kisan Digital Credit Card that will allow farmers to not visit banks to withdraw KCC amounts. On June 18th, the Prime Minister will address the farmers at the Kisan Sammelan to be held in Mehndiganj.

The 17th installment of Rs 2,000 will be deposited into the accounts of crores of farmers via DBT. Since 2019, 2,74,615 farmers in the Prime Minister's parliamentary constituency of Varanasi have benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. Under the PM Kisan scheme, farmers receive Rs 6,000 in financial assistance each year. 

Benefits of Kisan credit card

The Kisan Credit Card (KCC) program provides numerous benefits to farmers, meeting a wide range of their financial requirements. It provides credit for all types of agricultural activities, including post-harvest expenditures and the purchase of farm equipment like pumps and cattle. Farmers may get loans of up to Rs 3 lakh, ensuring enough money for their operations. Additionally, the scheme includes insurance coverage of up to Rs 50,000 for permanent disability or death. Eligible farmers will also get a debit card and a savings bank account, making financial transactions easier. The program offers various and flexible repayment options, which may be completed once the harvesting season is through. Farmers may also benefit from assistance in purchasing fertilizers and pesticides, as well as cash discounts from merchants. Credit under the KCC program is accessible for up to three years, providing consistent financial support.
