Gold and Silver prices may see a significant correction once trading at Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) begins in the evening, as the precious metals prices fell sharply in the international market on March 26 due to selling pressure. Trading on MCX is closed today in the morning session for Ram Navami holiday, while domestic stock exchanges--NSE and BSE--are shut today to celebrate the birth anniversary of lord Rama. 

At the time of writing, COMEX Gold was trading at $4,440.90 per ounce, down $11.40 or 2.45 per cent. While COMEX Silver was quoted at $69.460, down 3.18 or 4.38 per cent.

The decline in bullion prices was fueled by a gain in crude oil prices amid signs of escalating tension in middle east. Last seen, Brent Crude price was trading at $105.31, up $3.09 or 3.02 per cent. At the same time, WTI Crude prices soared $2.69 or 2.97 per cent to $93 per barrel.

CX Gold, Silver Prices On Wednesday: In the previous session, the gold, silver prices soared significantly on MCX due to value buying. The MCX Gold, April 2 expiry, rose 3.73 per cent to settle at Rs 1,44,100 per 10 grams, while MCX Silver, May 5 expiry, ended the session 4.80 per cent higher at 2,34,700 per 10 grams.

Meanwhile, the Sensex and Nifty closed nearly 2 per cent higher.

Gold, Silver Prices Pick Reverse Gear In War Situation

Gold and Silver have a history of having a dream rally during any sort of global geo-political situations--be it trade war, natural disaster or war between nations. However, this time, when afull-fledgede waisin going on in the Middle East that is impacting the lives of around a dozen countries and disrupting the energy supply chain, the bullion prices broke the historic trend and are on a declining path.

In most of the trading sessions since the warbroke outt on February 28, the gold and silver prices either remained range-bound or fell. The Bullion prices surged in a few sessions on value-buying sentiment.
