SBI SERVER Issue: Some users of the State Bank of India (SBI) on Monday (April 3) complained that they are unable to use the bank’s digital services. Several SBI customers took this issue to Twitter to highlight the issue with the SBI’s server.

Various services of the bank including net banking, UPI payments and YONO (SBI’s official app) were reported to be down today morning.

Several users tweeted on the micro-blogging platform that because of the SBI service outage their credit card payments were getting delayed.

Downdetector, a global outage tracking website, also mentioned that the SBI servers have been facing problems since 9.19 am, April 3. Earlier, on Sunday also, the website had reported a similar issue with the bank.

What happened?

On April 1, SBI issued a circular informing customers that the service of the bank will be down due to an annual closing activity, however, the bank also stated that the service will only be off from 13:30hrs to 16:45 hrs on a particular day.

The outrage happened today when the users started facing problems while logging in to their accounts (net banking, SBI website,  UPI payment,). It was only after they were unable to make payments through various modes, that the news flooded the social media platform. Even after the outrage kicked in, SBI tweeted on Twitter by mentioning, "Your safety is our top priority. Watch this video to learn safety tips from Mr Thinkeshwar".

Enraged with the stalled services, one of the users wrote on SBI's Twitter post: " Your entire payment structure is not working be it Card, UPI and net banking. What's the use of all these financial services if they are not available in the need of hour. Worst service and this story is of every 15-20 days. That's why now I'll now for sure switch to other banks."

By the time of filing this story, SBI had not released any official statement concerning the outage.
